Konfederacje te powoływały na czas bezkrólewia sądy kapturowe. Sądy te sądziły kolegialnie, z oskarżenia publicznego i w trybie przyśpieszonym sprawy o naruszenie bezpieczeństwa powszechnego.
The confederations would establish interregnum courts for the period of the interregnum. Those courts judged in a collegial manner, on indictment, and under an expedited procedure cases concerning violation of the public safety.

Etymology
Literally, “hood court”, of uncertain etymology. Several theories have been proposed. * Aleksander Brückner derives it from the black hoods worn by magistrates in mourning for a deceased monarch. * Ignacy Krasicki proposes a less popular theory that the name stems from Latin lībera captūra, as during one of the interregna, the Nēminem captīvābimus (“We shall not arrest anyone [without a court verdict]”) law was suspended.
