This is not a new grammar lesson — it's the moment everything you've built becomes one connected story: yours. «Расскажите о себе» opens language exams, job interviews and long train conversations. After this lesson, it's your easiest question.

Every self-presentation walks the same path — and you already own every room of this house:

Note: расскажите — a polite perfective imperative, like дайте and скажите. Now answer it.
A model answer, three minutes, nothing you haven't learned:
Меня зовут Том, мне двадцать два года. Я из Лондона, но теперь живу в Москве, потому что учу русский язык.
My name is Tom, I'm 22. I'm from London, but now I live in Moscow because I'm learning Russian.
У меня есть семья в Англии: мама, папа и сестра. Здесь у меня много друзей.
I have family in England: mom, dad and a sister. Here I have many friends.
Я студент, но хочу стать журналистом. В свободное время я читаю и играю на гитаре.
I'm a student, but I want to become a journalist. In my free time I read and play guitar.
Летом я поеду домой — но потом вернусь. Мне очень нравится Москва!
In summer I'll go home — but then I'll come back. I really like Moscow!

Common Mistakes
- A list instead of a story. Six sentences without connectors sound like a form being filled in. One потому что fixes a paragraph.
- Perfect grammar, zero personality. Add one true detail — your cat, your worst commute — and the listener remembers you.
- Stopping at the present. Close with a plan (я буду…, я поеду…) — endings that look forward land better.
