железничка станица is the railway station; аутобуска станица is the bus station. A воз is a train — never Croatian vlak.

Buying a ticket
«Једну карту за Нови Сад, молим.» Ask for a једносмерна карта (one-way) or повратна карта (return).
Треба ми повратна карта.
I need a return ticket.
Times and platforms
полазак is departure, долазак is arrival, перон is platform. Ask «Када полази воз?» and «С ког перона?»
Воз полази у девет са трећег перона.
The train leaves at nine from platform three.
A complete trip
Combine movement, instrumental and past tense: Ишли смо возом, стигли у Нови Сад и прошетали до тврђаве.
Пут је трајао сат времена.

Воз је каснио десет минута, али пут је био пријатан. Када су стигли, прошетали су до Петроварадинске тврђаве и ручали у малом ресторану поред Дунава.
On Saturday, Ana and Nikola set off by train from Belgrade to Novi Sad. At the station, Ana bought two return tickets. “Which platform does the train leave from?” she asked. “Platform three, at nine,” the clerk replied. The train was ten minutes late, but the journey was pleasant. When they arrived, they walked to Petrovaradin Fortress and had lunch in a small restaurant beside the Danube.
