Restaurant in Croatian

Eating Out in Croatian

Ordering — and «Ja ću kavu»

You know Ja bih kavu, molim. Croatians also order with a stranger little sentence:

Ja ću kavu.

I'll have a coffee.

Note: Literally “I will a coffee” — a future-tense clitic with the verb politely omitted. Learn it as a chunk; the grammar arrives in the future-tense lesson.

Add-ons and repeats stay in the accusative you own:

Croatian
Još jedno pivo, molim.
English
One more beer, please.
