Books & Films in Polish: Który, Bohater, Polecam
"What are you reading?" deserves a better answer than a title. This lesson builds the review toolkit — and introduces który, the relative pronoun that will carry your sentences from here to fluency.
który — the Workhorse Relative
który stitches clauses together and takes the case of its job inside the clause:
Talking Plot
główny bohater — the main character; akcja — the plot/action; zakończenie — the ending. The summary frame: Film opowiada o + locative — the film is about…: Film opowiada o wojnie. Książka opowiada o miłości.
Główny bohater to wiedźmin, który poluje na potwory.
The main character is a witcher who hunts monsters.
Note: który in the wild — introducing everyone's favourite monster-hunter.
Verdicts
Polecam! — I recommend it. Podobał mi się ten film — I liked this film (podobać agrees with the liked thing: podobała mi się ta książka). Pan it gently with: nie podobało mi się zakończenie — I didn't like the ending. The adaptation question: ekranizacja — książka czy ekranizacja, which was better? (The book. It's always the book.)

Common Mistakes
- który frozen in nominative. Its case comes from the clause: książka, KTÓRĄ czytam.
- podobał mi się without agreement. The verb tracks the thing liked: podobała mi się książka.
- opowiada o + accusative. o takes the locative here: o wojnie, o miłości.
